Workshop on the Cooperation Between the Gold Standard and Civil Society (01.19.2011)
A workshop on the cooperation between Gold Standard and Civil Society was carried out on 19th January 2011 at Istanbul's TOBB DEIK Conference Hall. Gold Standard, as part of its work on Clean Development Mechanism and Joint Initiative and voluntary projects on carbon off-setting in the fight against Climate Change, has been developing projects in Turkey since 2005. The Gold Standard, having its founding members as WWF and Greenpeace, managed to bring together environmental NGOs, active in Turkey. Carbon off-setting standard, created by Gold Standard Foundation, has been recognised and supported by over sixty worldwide civil society organizations. A day long workshop participated by Turkish NGOs and the Gold Standard, aimed to develop new partnerships and strengthen existing ones. Mr. Nusret Cömert represented ENIVA and informed the participants about ENIVA's activities.
